Isolated moments of unguarded expression;perception and conveyance; tradition and technology; manipulation of and with fabric...these are all elements basic to this series.

 

My interest is to create a series of portraits which explore the essence and expression of unguarded moments and my perception of said moments.  Capitalizing on nuance of perception and visual dialog,  I alter expression through both traditional means (oil painting) and through technology (printing painted images on silk, manipulating, photographing).  The resulting altered images portray and elicit an array of contrasting expressions and perceptions.  This exploration culminates in large format prints of rearranged expression.
